Tongue Lacerations Tongue Laceration Tongue Laceration

Tongue lacerations may present in young children. In most cases, pressure and cold will stop bleeding, so a parent should fill a washcloth with a few ice cubes and place the ice pack against the laceration. The edges of a laceration, unless it is extremely large, will self-approximate and heal without sutures. In most cases, suturing does nothing to improve outcomes. Minimal treatment is usually the best option.
