Clinton Community Dental Services
Clinton Community Dental Services (CCDS) resides in the county seat of Wilmington in rural Clinton County located in Southwestern Ohio.Part of the Clinton Memorial Hospital Regional Health System, the dental clinic is a coalition-inspired, community supported endeavor which provides comprehensive dental care to the low-income population in both Clinton and neighboring Highland County.
The clinic opened in 2003 in response to a community effort called Healthier Clinton County. Funded by Clinton Memorial Hospital (CMH) Regional Health System, CMH Foundation, United Way, Anthem Foundation, as well as grant funds from the Ohio Department of Health, the three chair dental clinic serves area residents who could not otherwise find a dental home in this sparsely populated agricultural region.
Today services include a wide range of comprehensive dentistry for all ages including cleanings, x-rays, restorations, extractions, root canals and dentures. CCDS is also collaborating with Clinton Memorial Hospital Cancer Center to provided restorative services and customized fluoride trays for cancer patients who are or will enter into active treatment. They are currently working to establish a standard for all cancer clients who may require dental services before, during and after a cancer treatment regimen.
The clinic is staffed by one full time dentist, Dr. Lawrence Gamby, one dental hygienist, two dental assistants as well as an office coordinator and goodwill ambassador, Rhonda Dick.
Office hours are by appointment, Monday through Thursday 8:00 am–5:30 pm. The dental clinic accepts Medicaid and other dental insurance. Those who are underinsured or uninsured will be charged for services based upon income and the number of people supported by that income (sliding fee scale).
